One State/One Story: All That She Carried Book Discussion

Engage in a fascinating discussion on how we can look at a historic object from different angles based on Tiya Miles’ book, All That She Carried, led by Indiana Landmarks Black Heritage Preservation Program director Eunice Trotter. Together, we’ll examine the many angles that Miles uses in her storytelling while discussing questions that posit the role objects and place have in our nation’s story. After the discussion, tour the Coffin home and see how the Levi and Catharine Coffin State Historic Site uses a historic house full of objects to tell the story of the Underground Railroad.

A copy of the book, All That She Carried, will be provided to each participant in advance of the program. Registration is required by Oct. 25.

This program has been made possible through a grant from Indiana Humanities in cooperation with the National Endowment for the Humanities.
