Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites

Together we can grow as we celebrate and recognize the abundance provided by American agriculture! Join us as we learn how food, fiber and renewable products are produced, talk to a local farmer and meet some of the animals who live on the farm. Plant something new and discover ways we can all grow together.

Meet our partners:

• Corteva Agriscience: Discover the difference between crops and products and learn what types of materials can go into products. Also, find out what constitutes a weed. 
• Conner Prairie: Visit with Conner Prairie’s agriculture staff and explore the vital role heritage breeds play in agriculture. Learn about the benefits of rabbit compost while planting wildflower seeds and meet one of Conner Prairie’s rare American Rabbits. (As to not stress these rabbits, they will need a break from meeting guests throughout the day.) Before you leave, be sure to customize your own melt-and-pour goat milk soap to take home.
• Soul Food Project: Discover what a hydroponic plant is and take one home with you.
• Purdue Extension Marion County: Stay safe with 4-H! Learn about zoonotic diseases, like Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza, or Bird Flu, and learn ways you can keep yourself and your animals safe to prevent the spread of illness.
• Indiana Soybean Alliance: Come explore all the amazing ways that farmers are taking care of the land, food and communities in Indiana. Learn about sustainability programs and conservation efforts and play bag toss trivia for a chance to win a prize.
• AGrowCulture: Learn about nutrition literacy through interactive activities, educational materials and giveaways. Enjoy a live urban gardening skill share – a hands-on demonstration teaching visitors how to grow fresh produce in urban environments.
