State Historic Site to host Studio Centennial Party

NASHVILLE, Ind. — The public is invited to a birthday party celebrating 100 years of T.C. Steele’s Large Studio at T.C. Steele State Historic Site on Saturday, June 4 from 12 to 4 p.m.
“This celebration has something for everyone,” said Cate Whetzel, T.C. Steele Historic Site program developer. “We hope to see multigenerational families enjoying cake and ice cream as well as the storytelling. I am expecting arts lovers to truly enjoy the talk by art historian and author Rachel Perry and the musical performance that will follow her.”
The Studio Centennial Party will include an original story about T.C. Steele at 12 p.m., told by Storytelling Arts of Indiana storyteller Lou Ann Homan.
From 1 to 2 p.m. cake and ice cream will be served to visitors.
At 2 p.m. Rachel Berenson Perry will present on her new introduction in the 50th Anniversary edition of The House of the Singing Winds.
Guests will enjoy a book signing and reception to follow.
At 3:30 p.m. cast members Amanda Biggs and Krista Detor of The Breeze Bends the Grass will perform. The show will run Oct. 13 through 15, 2016 and Oct. 20 through 22, 2016 at the Brown County Playhouse.
All programs for the Studio Centennial Party are included with the cost of standard site admission.
The Studio Centennial Party is co-sponsored by the Storytelling Arts of Indiana, the Brown County Playhouse and The Friends of T.C. Steele State Historic Site.
