Re-imagined L.S. Ayres Tea Room readies for holiday crowd

INDIANAPOLIS — There is nothing more exciting and magical than spending meal time during the holidays with close friends and family at the re-imagined L.S. Ayres Tea Room at the Indiana State Museum.

The beloved historic restaurant was located inside the former downtown L.S. Ayres department store.

This year it will be decked out in white and gold holiday attire and feature the many beloved traditions we have all come to know.

Included on this year’s holiday menu are some of the Tea Room’s classic favorites like Chicken Velvet Soup. Shrimp Cocktail, Chicken Salad, Classic Club Sandwich and Chicken Pot Pie. The menu will also feature salads, sandwiches, scrumptious entrees, desserts, soup du jour and of course beverages and select teas.

Special to the menu is the Classically-Inspired Tea Experience, which features your choice of tea, an assortment of tea sandwiches, tea pastries and petite scones, preserves and Devonshire cream for $16. HOURS AND LOCATION
L.S. Ayres Tea Room is housed on Level 2 of the Indiana State Museum, located at 650 W. Washington Street in Indianapolis. Tea room hours are 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Sunday.
