Pinewood Derby® coming to Indiana State Museum in April

INDIANAPOLIS (March 8, 2019) – This April, Pinewood Derby® fans are invited to race their cars down the Indiana State Museum’s two-story, 125-foot race track.

Pinewood Derby® is included with purchase of museum admission, and admission will be $5 per person for all scouts and their family members. The event is in collaboration with the Crossroads of America Council, Boy Scouts of America.

WHAT: Visitors can see how fast their cars can fly during Pinewood Derby® fun runs April 2-5 and April 7, or compete on Race Day, April 6. All cars must be registered to race by 12 p.m. on Race Day, and participants ages 5 to 16 must register in the youth category. Those ages 17 and older must register as an adult. For the Best in Show visual design competition, cars must be entered by 2 p.m. on Race Day. Full rules can be found closer to the event at indianamuseum.org.

Visitors can bring their own cars for use during fun runs, or use cars provided by the museum. Other activities related to the science and physics of speed and racing will take place throughout the museum during the days of the event.
