MEDIA ADVISORY: New “Building Indiana” event coming to Indiana State Museum
INDIANAPOLIS (June 29, 2018) – On July 14, visitors are invited to explore the many aspects of construction during “Building Indiana,” a new event at the Indiana State Museum.
From architecture and design to construction and building, visitors will be able to see real construction equipment and participate in hands-on activities from several different community partners, including exhibitors who work daily in architecture, engineering and construction.
This event is open to the general public and is perfect for families and kids of all ages. All activities are included with purchase of general museum admission, and the event is free for museum members.
Who: This event will feature many different exhibitors, including MacAllister Machinery; Purdue’s Lyles School of Civil Engineering; the Indiana Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects; the Indianapolis chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council; Ivy Tech Community College’s School of Advanced Manufacturing, Engineering and Applied Technology; and other organizations.
What: “Building Indiana” will feature hands-on activities for visitors, including a Lincoln Log challenge, a Whipple truss bridge building activity, a cable-stayed bridge activity, tower building and more. Visitors will also be able to get up-close with real construction equipment and talk to experts and workers in the fields of architecture and engineering.
