GENEVA, Ind. – The public is invited to the Limberlost State Historic Site on Saturday, Dec. 10 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for a day of holiday celebration and shopping at the Limberlost cabin.

“On this special day our visitors will not only be able to see the Christmas beauty of the cabin,” said Marla Laux, Limberlost State Historic Site tour guide and holiday coordinator.  “But also meet with Santa and Limber Jim as well as save money on their holiday purchases.”

Activities will be available from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Santa will be in the cabin to hear children’s holiday wishes and the “songstress of the Limberlost”, Adrienne Provenzano, will perform holiday and original Limberlost songs. Limber Jim will tell stories about some of the Limberlost critters he saw while he was lost in the swamp, a children’s craft will be available and children who participate in the Outdoor Treasure Challenge will be able to select a prize from the Treasure Chest.

All items in the Limberlost Gift Shop will be reduced by at least 20 percent and free refreshments will be served. There will be an assortment of children’s books available including those always sold at the gift shop plus special holiday children’s books.

Visitors are encouraged to walk through the decorated Limberlost cabin, however, no guided tours will be given.

Activities and the cabin open house are free, but donations are encouraged and appreciated.

The program is sponsored by Berne Ready Mix.
