Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites

ROME CITY, Indiana (Oct. 31, 2019) – New this year, visitors are invited to a Harvest Celebration at Gene Stratton-Porter State Historic Site.

WHAT: At this brand new event, attendees can celebrate the fall season and harvest time in Noble County. Visitors will sample chili, roast marshmallows around a campfire and enjoy a hike through the restored Hemingway Wetlands (weather permitting). During the hike, attendees will learn about the farming history of the area prior to the restoration, which began in 2013.

WHEN: 12 to 2 p.m., Nov. 9; presentation begins at 12:30 p.m.

WHERE: Gene Stratton-Porter State Historic Site, 1205 Pleasant Point, Rome City, IN 46784; tickets can be purchased at the Visitor Center.

PRICE: $8/members of the Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites, $10/non-members, free for children younger than age 3
