Tinkerfest Returns
Tinkerers, makers, builders and designers of all ages are invited to experience a whole day of interactive experiences, demonstrations and hands-on activities at Tinkerfest.
On Sept. 21, visitors will get to participate in this fan-favorite celebration of curiosity and creativity from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. while they explore the museum’s galleries.
Gearing up for its biggest year yet at the Indiana State Museum, the fifth-annual Tinkerfest will host hands-on activities and demonstrations from 35 exhibitors, plus numerous other activities led by the museum’s team, across all three floors of the museum, the front lawn and canal-side — making this year’s event the biggest Tinkerfest to date.
Whether visitors want to watch a pumpkin get launched 300 feet across the front lawn with a slingshot, 3D print Croc charms, experiment with coding, see robots in action, try their hand at changing a tire or decorate a cardboard birthday cake, Tinkerfest will have something for everyone who wants to know what makes something tick.

Tinkerfest is included with museum admission, with tickets available for $2 for Access Pass members, $5 for college students and $7 for Scouts BSA, Girl Scouts and their families. Girl Scout Daisies, Brownies and Juniors can earn their Craft & Tinker badge when they preregister for Tinkerfest.
