Each year, rock collectors look forward to one of their favorite Indiana State Museum events: GeoFest.
Gems, fossils, rocks, minerals, jewelry and more all will be on display to browse and purchase at this unique event Feb. 16 through 18. About 20 different vendors from around the nation will participate.
Both younger and more seasoned rock enthusiasts will enjoy special programming to explore geology by making their own geodes or jewelry, seeing fluorescing minerals, digging up discoveries in a mock dig pit, and other activities.
Cub Scouts can navigate through the Webelos Earth Rocks Adventure on Feb. 17. The museum will offer activities and discovery opportunities for scouts to fulfill their Earth Rocks Adventure requirements.
Geofest admission is included with purchase of general museum admission, which also grants guests access to all museum galleries. A special Scout price of $5 per scout and their immediate family members also will be offered during GeoFest.
GeoFest is supported by Irving Materials, Inc.
