Create your own mini greenhouse
Celebrate Earth Day this year by creating your own mini greenhouse. You might already have the supplies at home!
To make a mini greenhouse, you will need:
- Cardstock
- Scissors
- Tape
- Marker or crayons
- Seeds
- Cotton balls
- Plastic zip top bag
- Cup of water
Cut a square shape out of the cardstock to make a window for your greenhouse. You can decorate it in any way you’d like!
Dip 5-6 cotton balls in a cup of water and add to the bag. Sprinkle a few seeds on the top, making sure that the seeds are touching the cotton balls so they stay wet. If you want to give your seeds a head start on sprouting, you can soak them overnight in a damp paper towel.
Tape your bag to the back of the cardstock frame, and hang in a sunny window! You may need to add water as the seeds sprout. Once your seedlings are bigger you can continue growing them on your window or plant them outside.
