NEW! Pipe Creek Paleontology Experience Grades 5 - 8 Available Aug. 27 – 31; Sept. 24 – 28, 2012; April 22 – 24; May 6 – 8, 2013 Help museum paleontologists unlock the secrets to the Pipe Creek site. This five million year old site is a snap shot of when camels, rhinos and giant land tortoise roamed Indiana’s countryside. Discover the unique geological processes that preserved this very rare site. Then your students will work with actual soil from the site as they use water screens to search for bones and then identify and record their findings for inclusion in the museum’s collection. **Due to water restrictions because of drought, these workshop may be cancelled. Reservations will be taken and educators will be alerted Aug. 1 if cancellation is warranted.
