Throughout the year, the museum offers enrichment opportunities that help teachers bring Indiana’s past alive in the classroom. We offer educators a wide variety of programs to add to their knowledge and enhance their skills.

Excavation Experience: Megenity Cave
Aug. 24 – 26, 2012
$150 per member or educator; $200 per non-member (for all three days)
Advanced registration required; educators can attend a one day session on Sat., Aug. 25 for $50 or do all three days at the member rate.

Put on your helmet and caving gear and climb back into time. Over the past 24 years, Megenity Cave has provided a rare glimpse into the past 60,000 years in Indiana, including the Ice Age. Gain hands-on experience helping unearth peccaries, dire wolves and bears by excavating, screening, assisting with mapping, or cleaning artifacts on site with the professionals. Receive a commemorative certificate and souvenir to remember your experience.

The Lincolns: Five Generations of an American Family
features family-owned objects from the Lincoln Financial Foundation Collection (LFFC) and institutions around the United States. The exhibition examines the lives of Abraham Lincoln’s kin from his parent’s struggles in the early 19th-century Kentucky through the death of his last direct descendents.
